What does TCM say about the effects of ginger grass oil?
Just like ylang – ylang oil /Cananga odorata/ or oils from roses /Rosa/, jasmine /Jasminum/, ginger grass oil is in the element FIRE. It replenishes the JIN, thus helping to cool the body – to remove the internal hotness, which leads, among other things, to improved sleep and overall body harmony and anchoring.
Little connection to ginger
Essential oil of ginger grass /Cymbopogon martinii var. sofia/ is close to the essential oils of citronella /Cymbopogon nardus/, lemongrass /Cymbopogon citratus/, jamarosa /Cymbopogon nardus jamarosa/ and palmarosa /Cymbopogon martinii var. motia/, with which it also shares a common species name.

Methods of use
Inhalation
Drip 3–5 drops of essential oil into the diffuser or inhalation stick.
Massage
Gently massage the soles of the feet or strained muscles with a mixture of 3–5 drops of essential oil and 30 ml of carrier oil.
Bath
Mix 3–5 drops of essential oil and three tablespoons of cream, honey or liquid soap thoroughly into the water-filled bath.
